What is the South Node?
In karmic astrology, the Lunar Nodes (North and South) tell the story of your soul's journey. The South Node represents where you came from—your past lives, your inherited karma, and the traits you have already mastered. Because you have done it a million times before, South Node energy feels incredibly comfortable.
But comfort is a trap. The universe wants you to evolve toward your North Node. When you refuse to grow and fall back on your South Node habits, the universe will repeatedly send you situations that blow up in your face until you learn the lesson.
Identifying Your Karmic Loop
If your South Node is in Libra, your toxic habit is people-pleasing and losing your identity in relationships. If it's in Aries, you might push people away with extreme independence and anger. A South Node in Taurus clings to material security and fears change, while a South Node in Scorpio is addicted to drama and crisis.
Breaking the Chain
To break a South Node habit, you must consciously force yourself to do the exact opposite: embrace your North Node. If your North Node is in Aries, you have to practice being selfish (in a healthy way). If it's in Scorpio, you have to embrace transformation and let go of material hoarding. It will feel terrifying and unnatural at first, but that is exactly how karma is cleared.
